Leslie Besanko, passed away peacefully on Oct. 16, 2012 in Cincinnati after courageously battling cancer. Leslie was born Nov. 15, 1961 in Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA. to Frederick & Betty Besanko of Harwich. She graduated from Anderson High School in Cincinnati, OH.in 1979 & received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education & Health Educ

ation at Morehead State University in Morehead, Ky. Leslie was a gifted gymnast, an accomplished diver & swimmer & a first degree black belt in martial arts. As a professional coach in gymnastics, soccer, diving & swimming, Leslie inspired thousands of student athletes. Leslie's proudest accomplishment was raising her three children, Lauren, Ben & Madeline Franzen, all of whom survive her. Leslie is survived by her brothers, David Besanko, Eric Besanko, Bruce Besanko & her younger sister, Denise Besanko Burtzlaff, as well as numerous nieces, nephews & countless friends & family including special friend & sister-in-law Nancy St. Clair. She is preceded in death by her hero & father, Frederick Besanko & her caring mother, Betty Besanko.Friends & family are invited to attend a funeral service & reception to celebrate Leslie's life at St.Timothy Episcopal Church in Anderson Township on Saturday Oct. 27 at 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hamilton Co. Parks Foundation Legacy Tree Program, 10245 Winton Rd., Cincinnati, OH. 45231 (please specify "in memory of Leslie Franzen" & include your name & address). Your donation will help plant a tree in Leslie's honor at Woodland Mound Park in Anderson.
